Picking the right course is usually simpler than it looks. It comes down to two questions: what's the legal duty you're trying to meet, and what's this person's role? Here's how our three courses map to the most common needs.

Start with the duty

Most workplaces have three recurring obligations: someone trained to deal with fire, someone trained to deal with injury or illness, and — if you handle food — staff trained in food hygiene. Each maps to one of our courses below.

Fire safety — for fire wardens & marshals

Choose this if: you've been appointed a fire warden/marshal, or you're a manager responsible for fire safety and evacuation. Our Level 2 Fire Safety course (half day) covers prevention, evacuation and practical extinguisher use to help you meet the Fire Safety Order. No prior experience needed.

First aid at work — for workplace first aiders

Choose this if: you're a designated first aider whose certificate is due for renewal. Our Level 3 First Aid at Work Requalification (2 days) keeps existing first aiders certified for another 3 years. New to first aid, or unsure if you need full FAW or Emergency First Aid? See our guide on how many first aiders you need, or just ask us.

Food safety — for food handlers in manufacturing

Choose this if: your staff make, process or handle food in a manufacturing setting. Our Level 2 Food Safety for Manufacturing (1 day) covers contamination control, hygiene, HACCP basics and the law — helping you meet your due-diligence duty.

Still not sure?

If you're training a mixed team, covering several duties, or you're not sure which level fits a particular role, that's exactly what we're here for. Tell us about your workplace and we'll recommend the right courses — and give you a clear group quote if you're training more than a couple of people.

Note: This guide is general information, not legal advice. Your own risk assessments should determine the training your workplace needs.
